Whether you’re ringing in the new year with friends and family or just whipping up a good supper, you need to know how to make the perfect shrimp cocktail. This recipe is just perfect!
Shrimp Cocktail
1 pound of 21/25 deveined shrimp with the tail on- you want this kind because of their size and the tails on will help with presentation.
Bring a soup pot of salted water (about 2 tbsp of salt for every 4 quarts of water) to a boil with:
lemon juice about 1/2 cup
2 limes wedged
Once to a rolling boil, remove from heat and add shrimp. Let them sit in the water for about 7 minutes. They are done when they are pink and opaque. Add the shrimp to a bowl of ice water and cool immediately. Once cooled refrigerate until ready to use.
cocktail sauce-
1 cup ketchup and 2 tbsp creamed horseradish
mix together and serve with cooled shrimp
you won’t be sorry!
